The fifty miles amateur walking ibampimisliip of Australia was won by j, Lewis (of Victoria) in 9 hours 20 minutes 24 seconds. The previous record for the distance was 10 hours 9 minutes 40 seconds and the previous track record was 9 hours 43 minutes 2 seconds. G. Smith (N.S.W.) was second. He took 9 hours 34 minutes 14 seconds.
