(From a Correspondent). Rev. Father Healey was here conducting service last Sunday. Al r ,J. Bannon was a visitor to the flat during the week-end. Aiiss Christensen is at present a guest at the AVataroa- Hotel.

Airs Butler, senr., arrived home on Sunday after a visit to the northern cities. i Ain Cloher who has been suffering with a bad leg, is well on the way to recovery. Afessrs T. Staines and At. Houston paid a business visit to the flat during the week and purchased some fat stock.

Air R. .1 ones and Air Rostock were on a, business visit during the week. -Mr J. Tennent, the new storekeeper, has arrived and taken over from Air T. Aleßride.

Air J. .James,'Grey Motor King, passed through here yesterday oil a visit to the southern districts.

All- J. Sullivan has gone north with a fine line of cattle.

The new motor service, Toohey’s. has started running on the off days. It is to he hoped ho gets a. fair share of the tourist traffic.

Air J. Gilloolv and party (Hokitika) passed through here on Sunday on their way to Waiho.

The weather has been very had last week, heavy rain and snow falling. It has played havoc amongst the young lambs of which there is a large number around here.

Work has started on the installation of the new freezer in the local hnttqr fac-torv.

Air T. Ale-Bride has taken up his residence in the house lately vacated by Air 1. Nolan, and general regret will he felt throughout the district on his relinquishing business hut we feel sure he will have a worthy successor in Air Tennent.

•The school football and basketball teams visited Hnrihari last Saturday. The football ended in a draw and the basketball a win for Wataroa.
