t.YKST (OAST DEFEAT ASHBURTON ASHBURTON. September 10. The West ( oast Rugby touring team to-day defeated the Ashburton County reps, by eleven points to six. The visitors bad the better of the forward play, and particularly so in the loose. The hacks on both sides were faulty. They dropped many passes. In the first- spell the visitors had slightly the better of the play, scoring eight points to nil. though the home team missed a couple of chances of scoring. Tn tile opening of the second spell the home team attacked, scoring two tries, but afterwards the visitors put on another try. Walton scored the points for the winners. In the first spell "Walton kicked a goal from the field, and scored a try. which he also converted. Tn the second spell Walton scored another try. For Ashburton tries were scored by •T. Robilliard and Mulhern.
