GREYMOUTH. September 17

The Supreme Court sittings opened this morning there being no criminal case for trial.

Patrick Joseph C’reagh, ex-Town Clerk, of Brunner Borough, came up for sentence for stealing £346, the property of his employers. Justice Adams refused to grant probation as the report stated the prisoner was too lazy to work. He was sentenced to two years’ reformative detention. Civil sittings are proceeding.
