PRESBYTERIAN CHURCH. WELLINGTON, September 15
On the motion of Rev. .). Connie, tile following was carried at a meeting of the Wellington Presbytery lasi, night:—"Jl is hereby ordered hy ti e Presbytery of Wellington to the Goi-era-l Assembly indicated to meet at Wellington ‘on November 9th to resolve that the wold "male” he deleted from paragraph 43 of the Hook ol Order and declare that in the said Bonk of Order wherever the word denoting masculine is used it shall h j held to include also the feminine, unless the contrary is explicitly stated, or to determine otherwise as the assembly in its wisdom shall see.” Rev. ( 'oniric said it was quite time women ceased to he disqualified from holding positions in the church, hut he did not expf-Lt the motion to go through without, a good deal of discussion. It took the Church 39 years to decide upon their admission to services, and it was quite likely it would take a long time to decide upon the admission of women to the Church. DAIRY PRODUCE. AUCKLAND. September 13. “ The setting up of the Dairy Produce Control Board in New Zealand hits aroused vel’.v keen interest in England.” said Mr A. V. ATTEMPTED MURDER. NAPIER. Sept. 15. Hori Ngatoro was charged with attempted murder at Otane. He was remanded at Napier Court to-day till September 20th.,
