HOKITIKA MINIATURE RIFLE CLUB
At a meeting of ladies interested in the above Club held in County Chambers on Alonday hist it was decided to form a ladies’ branch of the Club and hold the shoot on a separate night from the men. The following ladies notified their intention of joining the Club-.-Ai rs Paterson. Misses W. Thompson. -'*• Maunder. N. Blair. .!. Preston, 1. Thompson. Al. King. 1. Wallace, J. Mclntosh, C. Coles. L. Sweney. Al. Robinson, A. Alclntosh. AL Hall,day.
The. position of the C lub was explained to the ladies by the Committee and that it was necessary to purchase a special rifle for their shooting. To d„ this it would be necessary to run some kind of entertainment to obtain funds and after a discussion it was agreed that a Grand Euchre and Danes h<. ’.eld on October Bth. Brill. The following ladies were appointed a Committee to arrange the supper for the entertainment: —Airs Paterson. Alisses W. Thompson. Al. Maunder, N. Blair and J. Preston. It was necessary to elect a Indv delegate to the .Executive Committee and Alis Paterson was duly elected. It was decided to inaugurate a ladies’ teams competition at some later date and badges he supplied to the winniiui ionm: Until such time ns n Indy’s rifle ran he nroeured aM the branch put in working order, if. was decide that thev esc the present rifles of the Club. The Committee pointed out that the Indies would 'he welcomed at all shoots of the Club.
