VISITORS EASILY BEATEN.

The West Coast team played a Canterbury B team on Lancaster Park to-day before an attendance of 5000 spectators, when Canterbury proved proved victorious by the substantial margin of 37 points to 7. The first spell ended Canterbury 15 to 0. In tbs second spell Canterbury added another 22 points while Coast score .7. Thomas scoring a try and King potting a goal.

The forwards were fairly evenly matched, but the Canterbury pack got the ball oftener in the serum but the Coasters bad an advantage in the loose play. Tlio Coast backs especially the inside players were badly overwhelmed and it was the combination of the homo team’s hacks that helped to run up the very substantial score. The •scorers of tries were: For Canterbury: Ford (2), Oliver (2), Dickson (2), Miller, Walker and J. Robilliard, of which Turpin by fine kicking converted four, and Nixon two. Canterbury defeated Otago on Carisbrook ground this afternoon in beautiful weather, before an attendance of about 10,000.
