ADDINGTON STOCK SALES. LARGE BEEF YARDING. (By Telegraph.—Special to Guardian.) CHRISTCHURCH. This Day. Messrs H. Matson and Co. report as follows regarding their stock sale at Addington yards yesterday;— Store Sheep.—Another large yarding for this time of the year, including North Island and Marlborough consignments and mostly very inferior sorts. The biggest proportion ol the entry Comprised ewes with a sprinkling of ewes and lambs hut sales were difficult to make. Hoggets and wethers were also easier. Best 2 and 4 teeth crossbred ewes 33s to 34s 7d; S.M. 22s to 25s 9d. failing ditto 16s to 20s fid; others to 13s. Ewes and'lambs, all counted, 9s 3d to 13s (id; crossbred ewe hoggets. 22s to 2fis lid; cull ditto 20s. forward ditto wether hoggets l-7s to 19s; others to 14s fid; best wethers to 27s Id ; others to 21s 6d. Store Cattle.—A fair yarding hut with, few exceptions only odd and nondescript lots. One pen of small steers made £3, no other quotable lines offer-
Hoof. A larger entry, comprising ,|(SO end ns against 300 last week. Tl*~ quality generally was very good. Good young cows and prime lieifers were decidedly firmer, quite 20s to 30s per 1 lead above last week. Steers, especially the heavier sorts, were not nearly so good. Prime steers £l3 to £1 < 10s, extra to £l9 17s od, medium £lO Ids to £l2 10s, others £7. Prime lieifers £9 15s to £l2 10s, extra to £ls* 2s Oil, medium £7 to £ft 10s, others to £5 ss. prime cows CS 10s to £ll ss. extra to £l3 7s ful, medium £0 to £8 10s. others to £3 15s. , Pigs. Porkers, a fair yarding, and market firm at recent rates. Light porkers 50s to 00s ; medium 02s Od to 07s; heavy to 06s ; about 101(1 to lid per lh. Baconcrs, a small yarding and market very firm. Medium weights £4 10s to £ls 5d : heavier to £7 2s; average Old to lOd per lh. Choppers £S 10s to' £lO 12s Od. Store Pigs.-—A rather smaller yarding than last week and no quotable change in prices, the market being good throughout. Mutton.—A larger yarding than last week and included some specially excellent lines from South Canterbury. Xot many ewes were entered. The sale opened about on a par with last week hut improved gradually and especially for ewes, there was a firm sale throughout. hut .little quotable difference from last week. Prime wethers 32s 0d to 365, extra to 30s -Id. medium 20s to 20s! others to 20s 7(1. prime ewes 26s to 30s, extra to 34s 7(1. medium 23s to 25s Od, others to 19s. No shorn sheep were offered.
