LEAGUE OF NATIONS.
[Australia <fc N.Z. Cable Association.] GERMANY’S ENTRY AWAITED. GENEVA, Sept. 7. The League conference is marking time in view of inviting Germany tomorrow, and the welcome to the German delegation on Friday morning. There is scarcely any mention of tl'e Tangier question, except for one comment “that Spain has got quite a severe enough heart attack at homo to make her forget, the toothache contracted at Geneva.” Sir George Foster’s statement that Canada has decided to abandon her 11011-permanent seat on the Council docs not commit the other Dominions, but C a Lula’s abstention from tbe scramble for seats lias evoked a belief that tile other Dominions will also refrain from urging similar claims .this session. In view of Doctor Nansen’s protest against the proposal to group the delation of the, additional lion-permanent members in one motion, it is now proposed to submit first a separate resolution admitting Germany, secondly a resolution allocating a permanent seat on tne Leagpe Council to Germany, and increasing the lion-permanent seats by three. The Council will immediately meet and declare Germany elected to the Council. > Then the reorganisation Crumnission’s plan dealing with the methods of the election of non-perirmicnt monikers, and with their re-eligibility for a further term will be remitted, first to the Commission for examination, leaving the election of the non-permanent members of the Council to take place about September 25th.
