MONDAY. SEPTEMBER (ith

The Committee met at 7 p.lll. Present Messrs H. It. Sweney (Chairn,an), Haseler, Richards, Clarke, Shannon, Preston, C'oulson, Pedder and Conning (lion sec)The minutes were confirmed and outward correspondence approved. The Chairman moved a motion of condolence with Mr It. Wild in the recent loss of his soil. Carried in silence.

INWARD COP It E$ PONDENCE. From Teacher, South Spit, reporting roll number 11 and average attendance o.o.—Received,

From Education Hoard in reference to grant for new fence, stating £75 was he grant for renewal of whole fence, stating old material could be

sold by the Committee and proceeds used towards payment of new fence.— Received. From same in reference to staffing and stating it was impossible to keep present extra teacher on present roll, but the only alternative was to close the South Spit Sciipol and bring the children, from there by special convey-ance.—-Received. From same in reference to cyclone fencing, quoting for supply of same.— Received. From Renton and C'o.. quoting for cyclone fencing.—Received. In connection with the fencing it was resolved to ask the Board’s foreman to confer with the Chairman and Mr, Hascler. From Rector (E. Partridge), reporting the school closed on 20th August and opened that day, after the term holidays. The attendance had suffered from an epidemic oi mumps. Several football and other teams hail visited and played the school team. Thanks were due to those who had billetted the visitors. The school fair would take place on Wednesday, September 13th. commencing at 2 p.m.—Received. The Visiting Committee reported on some small requirements.—Received. .Messrs Preston and Richards were appointed visitors for October. Accounts as scheduled were passed for payment and the Committee rose at 7-50 p.m. '
