It is reported 'hundreds of people perished when the passenger steamer Burevescinik collided with the mole as she was leaving Leningrad for Kronstadt. The accident occurred during a dense fog. The Burevescinik was trying to avert a collision with the-Ger-man steamer Groyne when she !iit the wall. A hole two meters wide was knocked in the hull and the ship sank in fifteen minutes. TRAIN SMASH. LONDON, Aug. 30. London north-east express from Newcastle to Carlisle collided with a charabanc at a level crossing at Noworth, |eleven mijes from Carlisle.
