WOODBURY—MURTHA. i A very pretty and interesting wedding was celebrated at St. Patrick’s Church, Kumara, on Wednesday afternoon. by the Rev. Father Finncrty, the parties being Miss Florence Martha, third daughter of Mr and Mrs James Murtha, of Kumara, and ' Mr Eric Woodbury, of Hokitika, son of Mr E. J. Woodbury, late Stationmaster, of Christchurch. The bride, who was given away by her father looked ; charming in a frock of white silk maro-
on u, relieved with an overdress of silver and wore tlie orthodox wreath and veil and carried a beautiful shower bouquet. She was attended by her sister Kate, a.s bridesmaid, who was neatly attired an seagreen crepe do chine, and hat to match. There were two little flower girls, Florence Gray and Xorric Reedy, nieces of the bride, the former dressed in white silk and tho (latter in white orgaudi. The duties of best man were ably carried out by Mr E. Best. The bride’s gift to tlie bridegroom was a set of ivory military .brushes and the bridegroom’s gift to tho bride a beautiful necklace of pearls, to the bridesmaid an attache ease and to tho flower girls beautiful
gold bangles. On leaving the church, the bride was presented with a lucky silver horseshoe by her mother, and the happy couple were greeted by many friends with showers of confetti and hearty congratulations and good wishes were received on all sides. The party then adjourned to tho residence of the bride’s mother, where a sumptuous wedding dejeneur was partaken of, and tho usual toasts honoured. They were the recipient of many valuable and useful presents, including n number of cheques. The bride’s travailing dress was of wine-coloured repp cloth and hat to match. In tho even-
