The Council met at 2.30 p.m. The Legislative Council met lit 2.30 p.m. Replying to a question bv Air I homson Sir Heaton Rhodes stated that arrangements were in train for an officer of tlie Research Department tt> undertake the duty of making observations in and reporting on the volcano region in the North Island. SCALMER TIAfE BILL LOST. On 'the question of the third reading of the Summer Time Bill being put, a division resulted in a tie—lo for and 1G against. The Speaker gave bis easting vote against the Bill which was not rend a third time. Fisheries Amendment Bill, Guardianship of Infants Bill, and Family Allowances Bill were read a second time without division. Tlie Council adjourned at 10.25 p.m. THE HOUSE. The House met at 2.30. The Lights on Vehicles Amendment Bill, Land Laws Amendment Bill, Hauraki Plains Bill, Local Elections Polls Amendment Bill were read a second time. The House rose at 11.20 p.m. till 2.30 p.m.
