LATE LOCALS.

(The death occurred at an early hour this morning of Mr George Clayton, of Inchboimie, who on Sunday evening last was severely injured through being kicked in the abdomen by a horse, one of a. number that he was feeding at the time. He was treated at the Grey River Hospital, but his injuries placed him beyond human aid, ami death resulted this morning. He was the fourth son of .Mr Joseph Clayton, of Dover, Tasmania, and was only 20 veal's of age, having conic to New Zealand last year. He-leaves three brothers, Mr Joseph 'l'. AY. Clayton, of Kotuku, and the others reside with his parents in Tasmania, where there are also .six„sistens, while one brother was killed at the war.

At F’e annual meeting of the New Zealand Society of Accountants yesterday the following Taranaki remit was passed: “That representations he again made to the Minister of Justice requesting him to meet the demand of the commercial community for a revision of our bankruptcy legislation.”

An unfortunate accident held one of the pupils of tlie Epsom Girls’ Grammar School, Auckland, about three months ago. The girl, who was an all-round sport, and had previously won the school tennis championship, hit her leg with a; cricket hat. For some time she was in a private hospital and tlicr| returned home. Recently it was found necessary, however, to remove her to the Auckland Hospital, where the leg was amputated. The unlucky young lady is now gradually recovering, hut it will be some time before she recovers from tlie shock to her nervous system following upon the loss of her limb.
