TENNIS.
. > ■O © O—< Australia <fc N.Z. Cable Association.] 'Received this day at 12.25 p.ni.) NEW YORK, August 25. Tennis writers generally are agreed that France should have little difficultyin eliminating Japan. The teams nominated consist of Harade and Tawara for .Janan and Lncoste, Coehet and Brugnon for France. Thereafter the challenge round between France and United States, would arouse the keenest interest.' as the teams are regarded as almost equally matched. Meanwhile the United States selection committee proceeds on the difficult task, with the necessity of again choosing between Johnston and Richards to play in the singles with Tilden, Johnston having beaten both Borotra and Lncoste in 1925, and played a splendid game since, while Richards lost prestige in Europe this season which, however he has since recovered here. It is probable, however, that the United States teams will lie Tilden and Johnston in the singles and Richards and Williams in the doubles.
