At too Supreme Court, tile following prisoners were sentenced:— Alexander McLaughlin, to three years reformative detention, for theft of a motor car. Frances Joseph Smith. Lo five years gaol 'for attempted rape. Clarence Highani Pepper and Herbert Arthur Truscott Taylor were admitted to probation for .three years for theft. NAPIER, Aug. 20. At the Supreme Court David Pearce Eddy was granted a decree nisi from Violet Eddy on Clio grounds of adultery. George Jane a corr"B9oJ7B9o'i tery with George Jane, co-respondent. The jury awarded ;C250 damages.
