Owing to the absence of several members of the .Ministerial Party, a private member's bill enabling railway servants and other public servants to stand for Parliament without first- resigning from the service, which was opposed by the .Ministry, was passed by the Assembly. Tile Premier’s motion that the remaining business be postponed till Tuesday was carried, only on the casting vote of the Speaker.

Itie had received definite information from Britain that a beam wireless station at Grimsby which will work with Australia, will be completed in September. Several weeks will be required for tests, and tbe station should be available for commercial services in October. The maximum rate for messages will be 2s a word.
