WIRELESS IK JJ&NOLAN CAVES. SYDNEY, Aug. 4. Tlio more one thinks about wireless the more ho realises how wonderful it is. The simpjle twist of a dial or two of a receiving set a night or two ago far down in the depths of one of the world-famous Jenolan Caves in the Blue Mountains, and there rang out in the stilly silence of giant caverns, the voice of a lady vocalist away in Brisbane. She had been broadcast from Station 4QG. The music, after travelling COO miles over the ether, had found its way through the great masses of rock front which Nature has fashioned these wonderful caves. This, was not all. The words and the .music were transmitted from the depth of the caves to one of the big broadcasting stations in the city, and there re-broadcast for listeners-in all over Australia, New Zealand, and the Pacific. The Queensland lady’s voice did a remarkable journey that night. Originating in Brisbane, it Was sent by air to tho interior of the caves, transmitted by land line to the city, thence sent out far 'and wide, and, picked up on a receiving set, was brought back into the manager’s office at the Caves House. Prom Sydney alone it is a day’s journey - ', by train and motor for visitors ■to .Tenolan Caves
