From Merivale Club, Christ church, notifying they would not he able to play at Hokitika, during their present tour.—Received. Hokitika School team was declared the winners of tne Third Grade competition. ' Thomas Gardyne .applied for transfer from Kanieri to Excelsior. —Heceivod and request granted. Mr Stafford reported on the result of the conference between the SubUnion and West Const Rugby Union on Saturday evening, stating it was arranged that the present senior competition be cancelled and a fresh senior competition bo instituted. Entries were received from United and Stars (Grey), Kanieri and Excelsiors, the first game to be set down for Saturday next at Hokitika, Kanieri v. Excelsiors at 3 p.m.—Received. Mr Gay lor was appointed referee. Mr Moore nominated Kokntnhi for the competition.—Ordered to be sent on to the West Coast Rugby Union. A vote of thanks was passed to the representatives to the conference and satisfaction was expressed at the results achieved. It. was resolved to call for nominations for a junior and third grade knock-out competition, entries to close on Monday next, the competition to ie eligible fer thirds and juniors combined. , . , , A letter of thanks was ordered to be sent, to Mr Newman appreciating his action in regard fo the representative team.
