The rates for P ul * chasino- documentary bills on New Zealand will be: Sight 22s Gd, per cent, discount; thirty days, 33s 9d; sixty days, 455; ninety days, 56s 3d. MINERS’ DECISION AGAINST bishops. LONDON, Aug. 10. The rank and. file of the British minors have rejected the Anglican bishops’ proposals for a. settlement of the strike. The voting was: Far Bishops’ proposals ... 333,000 Against acceptance 370,000 Majority against 37,000 ✓There were adverse votes in South Wales and Lancashire, which balanced favourable votes on Northumberland and Durham, while there was a preponderance of adverse votes in Yolkshire that was sufficient to turn the scale. 1
The Scottish miners did not vote on the proposals at all. It is understood that the miners’ misgivings regarding arbitration is the chief reason for the miners rejecting the proposals. The deadlock is now more manifest than ever.
COAL MINES OFFER

A definite step towards a resumption has been taken by the Coal Owners in Notts and Derbyshire, who have invited Derbyshire Miners’ Association to join in meeting to endeavour to reach a settlement. ,
