The “Daily Herald” forecasts tlmt the coal miners’ voting will fail to show a majority for the acceptance of tho churches’ proposals. AAIERICAN AIISSION. WASHINGTON,. Aug. 9. Having completed conferences with AH William Green, President of tho American Federation of Labour, tho Mission representing the Miners* Federation of Britain here to raise funds in aid of the striking British miners have departed to tour the leading industrial centres and to appeal to tho local unions and the various International Labour Conventions. Air Ben Tiliett heads the Mission. Ho declared that tlio situation of the miners was a desperate one, and that they could use five million dollars a week.
FRENCH EMBARGO. PARIS, Aug. 10. The French Government have decided to prohibit tlio exportation of cowl to Britain, the available supplies being needed for internal use.
