WEST LAND SUB-UNION-MONDAY, AUG. 9th. The Sub-Union met at 8 p.m. Present: Alessrs F. McGregor (Chairman), D. Dowell, Cutbush, Aloore, Stafford Lawn. Burns, Breeze, Steel, Howat and Heenan. , , Tlfe minutes were confirmed and outward correspondence approved. INWARD CORRESPONDENCE. From West Coast Rugby Union in reference to withdrawal of senior team, and notifying' no players would he included in the representative team.— Received. After considerable discussion it was respired that the Sub-Union invite the W.C.R.U. to hold a conference on Saturday next at < p.m._ From Pirate Club. Westport, stating they would arrive about 11.30 on Friday, Sept. 3rd., and play that afterliooii. —Received.
From Old Boys, Westport, stating they .would arrive next Friday and play Excelsior Juniors on Saturday, \ug. 14th.—Received. From L. Larcombe, application for, transfer from Excelsior to Kiwi third grade.—Received and requested granted. . From E. Partridge, referring to school matches and resigning from the Committee.— Received. It was resolved to write thanking Afr Partridge for past services and to ask him to reconsider his decision. Accounts presented totalling £1 Hs were passed for payment. Nominations for Breeze Shield Competition were received from Excelsiors, Kanieri and Kokatahi. It mis iesolved that the first game he played next Saturday, Kanieri to play Kokatahi at Kokatahi; Excelsiors a bye. Explanations for lion fulfilment of fixtures last Saturday by the Red Lion nnd Kanieri teams were accepted. V vote of sympathy was passed to Airs Delbridge and family in their bereavement.
MATCHES FOR, SATURDAY. Excelsiors v. Old Roys (Westport) at Hokitika. 3 p.m—Air A. J. Sumner. Kanieri v. Kokatahi at Kokatahi at--3 p.m.—Afr C. Gaylor. Third-grade to he announced later. Footballs were granted Kiwi thirds and Kanieri. School and the meeting terminated.
