TEST PLAYERS’ WAGES. LONDON, August 5
A novel problem regarding the payment of the professionals in the Oval test match was settled at the Board of Control meeting. The terms were £27 per match. The Board decided that if the play is prolonged beyond that an extra £9 per day will be paid. RAIN STOPS PLAY. (Received this day at 8 a.m.) LONDON, Aug. (iRain fell in the early hours of tho morning, but ceased at eleven. It was decided to start at 12.33 if tliero were no more, but this at present is problematical.
