LATE LOCALS.
A final meeting of the Spinster Ball guarantors will be held TTi Mclntosh’s Club Rooms on Friday evening at 7.30 o’clock. —Advt.
Mr Frank O’Brien, the popular Mokihiinii and Bullet- Rughv representative, was injured through a fall of coal in a mine at Mokihinui on Tuesday and was brought in to the Westport hospital. Eight of a party had a heavy task in getting the injured young fellow over the road, owing to its had state, particularly at Chasm Creek, where they had to make a descent and then a steep ascent to get back to the road. The injuries will detain Mr O’Brien in the hospital for some little time.
The death took place at Kara men at 10.45 on Monday evening of Mrs Lineham, an old and highly esteemed resident', one of the pioneers of Karamea. Mrs Lineham was a native of Bedfordshire, 77 years of age. She came to New Zealand with the Adamant, over fifty years ago and took up her residence in Karamea with her Into husband, who predeceased her by a few years'. Deceased is survived by a grown up family comprising Messrs George and Charles Lineham and Mrs Scarlett h, Karamea and Mr Walter Lineham in Sydney.
