Arrangements are now well in hand for the annual hospital ball and juvenile dance to be held on Wednesday and Thursday. September Ist and 2nd. During the next few weeks the following Indies will make a canvass of the town for the usual donations towards the supper and ball fund generally:— M esdames Breeze. Benjamin, Parkhill, Pilkington, Thompson, Davidson, Blank, Jeffries and Paterson. A decorating committee comprising Mesdames Baird, Buchanan, F. Williams and Paterson will have charge of the decorating of the halls By wav of introducing a novelty, the committee has this year decided to award prizes for the best fancy paper costumes as follows:—• Best lady’s costumes and most original lady’s costume and best and most original men’s costumes. The following ladies and gentlemen have very kindly consented to act as judges:— Mesdames Coulson, Breeze and Buchanan anil Messrs Breeze, Jeffries and Evans. The music will be supplied by M,r C. Ross’s orchestra, so that this item will leave nothing to be desired. Tickets for the ball are now oil sale and as the Committee is making every endeavour to make the event this year an outstanding success, it is hoped its efforts for such a worthy object will meet with the same generous response from the public as in previous years.
