(by TELEGRAPH —PER PRESS ASSOCIATION THE COUNCIL. WELLINGTON, Aug, 4. The Legislative Council met at 2.30 p.m. The Millelaine Smyth Divorce Bill was read a. second time. Hon. Isitt moved the second reading of the Religious Exercises in Schools Bills, the debate on which lasted till 9.27 p.m.. and was then adjourned till to-morrow.
THE HOUSE. The House met at 2.30 p.m. The House spent the afternoon discussing the Mines Statement which was eventually laid on the table. At the evening sitting the Dairy Produce Export Control TJ7.il was put through the Committee stage without amendmentThe House rose at 3.40 a.m., till 2.30 p.m.
