HOKITIKA SCHOOL COMMITTEE.
The Committee met last evening at 7 o’clock. Present:—Messrs H. It. Sweney (Chairman), Ilaseler, Preston, Shannon, Clarke and Conning. The minutes were confirmed and outward correspondence approved. ft was resolved to thank Airs G. A. Perry for a donation towards the clinic. From Education Board granting request for erection of new fence up to £75 and stating the Foreman had been instructed to carry out minor repairs.. —Received. From Rector (Mr E. Partridge) reporting owing to mumps and other troubles prevailing there was a considerable reduction in' the attendance, the average being primary 250 out of 318 roll number, and secondary 54.6 out of G 0; enclosing £4 13s 4d for coal' fund subscriptions.—Received. It was resolved to write the Education Board re Mr Smith’s transfer. It was resolved to draw up a circular for parents explaining purposes of the school fair. The Visiting Committee reported on a few requirements.—Received and adopted. Accounts as scheduled were passed for payment. Tt was resolved to offer iron off Park and Sale Street fences for sale, the Grounds Committee and Chairman to deal with same. The Committee then rose.
