ADDINGTON STOCK SALES. A GOOD SALE. (By Telegraph.—Special to Guardian.) CHRISTCHURCH, This Day. Messrs 11. Matson and Co. report as follows regarding their stock sale at Addington yards yesterday:— Store Sheep.-—A fair yarding for this time of tlio year. Dry sheep, especially wethers, wore firmer. Ewes with the exception of a few lots were very medium, but it is surprising how they arc ' sought after. Generally speaking the sale was very firm all round. Wether hoggets 19s to 21s Id; M.S. ditto to 22s 6d; ewe hoggets good 29s lOd; best forward wethers to 235; medium 22s Cd to 25s 4d; four, six and eight tooth Romney crossbred ewes to 32s (3d; good two tooth owes 32s 7d ; one extra god' lino of four, six and eight tooth ewes passed at 355. Aged ewes 15s to 21s but not many good ones in.

Store Cattle.—medium yarding and splendid demand all round although mostly odd lots. One nice pen of three year steers made £7 15s, but practically no other quotable lines were yarded.

Beef.—Another exceptionally heavy yarding and the quality was very irregular. A fair proportion of the yarding comprised shipped and travelled cattle and these were certainly easier. The market for steers was about 20s to 30s easier and heifers and cows 10s to 20s, Imt this drop was not so apparent in good quality" local sorts. Prime steers £l3 10s to £l7 10s; extra to £22 12s fid; medium £lO 15s to £l2 13s; others to £7 10s prime heifers £9 5s to- £11; extra to £l4 2s Cd; medium £3 10s to £8 1.5 s ; others to £■!. Prim cows £7 os to £9 10s; extra to £l3 15s; others to £l3 10s.

Fat Pigs.—A medium entry and good demand, porkers and baeoners all selling on a par with late rates. Values: Light porkers 53s to (50s; heavy 03s to 75s ; average 9.U1 to 10.Jd. Light baeoners £4 5s to £5; heavy £5 os to £5 los ; extra to £G 16s ; average Sd to 91d. Choppers £4 to £7 16s. Store Pigs.—A medium entry and very good demand, prices improving on late rates. Values: Weaners Sis to 295; slips 30s to .325; small stores 33s to 36s : medium 38s to 455; large 52s Gd to 61 s; sows in pig up to £7 2s 6d. Mutton.—A very large yarding and big proportion of wethers. The market, especially for wethers was easier, being about Is to Is 6d down, although ewes did not show the same drop. Now that the factories are closed we have practically to depend on local consumption and as to-day's entry was quite sufficient for the trade, the sale in the final stages was very dragging. Prime wetbef-s 34s to 39s Kid : medium 31s Gd to 33s fid ; others to 265; prime ewes 25s to 28s; extra, to 35s fid; medium 22s to 24s Gel; others to 16s.
