AMUSEMENTS.

EVERYBODYS PICTURES.

“ THE LIGHTHOUSE BY THE SEA

—TO-NIGHT

There are stars and stars, but the famous Master Picture dog, Rin-Tin-Tin, is t.lie star that is appearing in “ Tiie Ligbtliou.se by the Sea,” translated on to tiie screen from Owen Davis’ stage play with Louise Fazenda, “ Buster ” Collier, Jr., Mathew Betz, Douglas Gerrard and Charles Hill Hailes in the cast. The picture will be screen at the Princess Theatre tonight. With the intuition of a god—an jnstict that never erred—and a

courage that never faltered, you’ll see the dog hero of the screen in a tempestuous romance of storm-tossed seas. Two white-bellied sharks, with murderderouly gleaming teeth and vicious dispositions were secured as little playmates for Louise Fazenda and the dog star Bin-Ti 11-Tin in the Master Picture of Owen Davis’ stage play, “The Lighthouse by the Sea.” Like a thunderbolt of vengeance Bin-Tin-Tin leapt down to the rescue of bis mistress! This is a breathless' melodrama of a girl Lighthouse-keeper and her dogprotector who fought a lone light against an unscrupulous gang of smugglers! A good comedy and. a gazette will also ho shown to-night.

THE OPTIMISTS INTERNATIONAL ENTERTAINERS.

Every now and again a brilliant company of versatile artists make a tour of New Zealand, and they are accorded a splendid reception, for nobody appreciates- talent better than New Zealanders. The main centres are certainly more fortunate than the smaller towns, inasmuch as a lot of important theatrical companies do not care to risk a complete tour of the Dominion. M.r C. D’Arc-y Allen, the well-known New Zealand theatrical manager, has completed arrangements whereby Basil Burnley’s famous International Entertainers, the Optimists, will make a complete tour of New Zealand. The above company will appear at the Princess, Theatre on Monday for one night. M r Slern heads a brilliant combination of International artists, and as a character comedian his fame is-world wide. The company includes Peggy Peat (late of J. C. Williamson’s and Fuller’s companies), an Australian songstress; Yota Gilbert, dramatic soprano ; Francis Cornwall, the prolific baritone; Stan. Hudson-Airth, the Beau Brummel of the company; Arthur Carlisle, operatic tenor; Marie Francis, a charming girl in song and dance; Nnnova Baudinet, soubrette and dancer ; George Collins, popular baritono; Arthur Burns, England’s favourite character actor; and The Harmony Trio, the Jazz Frazzlers. A recent criticism, of the Auckland “Herald” said :—“ The Optimists entertainment is clever, clean and refreshing.” The box plan is now open at Mclntosh's confectionery shop.
