CRI CK.KT DELEG ATE. V SYDNEY, July 27. At the annual meeting New South Wales Cricket Asociation, Air Sydney Smith (manager of the Australian team at present in England) was rejected as delegate to the Australian Board of Contyol. For many years Smith acted as honorary secretary to the Board. His defeat was not unexpected, owing to iris recent rejection as a delegate by Gordon Club.
FOREST SERVICE. SYDNEY, July 27,
A summary of the work of the Forestry Commission shows that since the establishment of the Commission in 1916, forest revenues have progressively increased from £77,273 sterling to £209,733 in 1924-25. The 'F v orest Act lays down that half the revenue obtained from forests shall ho ear-marked, and set aside for re-expen-diture on them. Under this provision it has been possible, during the past five years, to expend upon them nearly -£IBO,OOO per annum, and at the same time to make the administration a self-contained one, without cost to the Government. The Commissioner wais able to hand buofc not only the amount voted annually, hut the surplus over it averaging about £30,000 yearly.
