ALL BLACKS AT VICTORIA. MELBOURNE, July 23. The All Black team had a good re eeption on their arrival here to-day They will be quartered at St. Hilda.

The teams for to-morrow’s match a re :—•

New Zealand.—Brown ; Elvy, Blake, Robilliard ; Cooke, Sheen ; Mill; Porter ; Lomas, Kirkpatrick, Alley, Knight, Stewart, C. Brownlie, Ilazlett. Victoria.—Backs: Rae, Hamilton, Lane, McNeilage, Ewen, Coupland, Peek; forwards: McGowan, A'ouffa. Spencer, Smith, Wackett, Abbott, Maugham and Mc-Causland. I’lie Victorian State Premier, Mr John Alien, attended the All Blacks reception. The manager and team and members expressed great appreciation of Mr Allen’s action. The Premier alluded to matters at present of mutual interest, such as defence and the desirability in both countries for a better understanding and trade exchange. also the great benefits derived from an interchange of visits of sporting teams such as this one.

The payment of £2OOO by tlie French Rugby Union announced today, relieved anxiety felt by the public and members of the New Zealand Rugby team as well as by tlie New Zealand Rugby Union regarding the team’s tour to France and Britain. Cabled advice received states that return passages hail been paid. The team left for Sydney by the Mara mu this afternoon to connect with the Markunda by which the tourists will travel to Marseilles. Mr W. T. Pa rata and 11. 11. Harris are travelling with the team as joint managers. In England Mr Harris will represent New Zealand at the Imperial Rugby Conference. As representative of New Zealand at the Olympic Games Association, Mr Harris will also confer with the officials of the British Olympic, Association on matters of common interest.

The New Zealand Rugby Union farewelled the tourists this afternoon. They received ' an enthusiastic sendoff.'

It is unofficially gathered that, in addition to £2OOO paid by the French Rugby Union, the English Rugby Union lias guaranteed to the French Rugby Union £250 for, each of the 15 matches now scheduled to be played in England and in Wales.
