FOOTBALL.
WEST I,A ND SU B-UNION. The Sub-Unicn met last evening at 8 o’clock. Present: • —Messrs F. -McGregor (President), Partridge, S. Moore, Stafford. Breeze, Dowell, How-, at, Steele, and Burns. The minutes-,of the previous meeting were read and confirmed, and outward correspondence approved.
Afcssrs Gaylor and AlcAtinn wero present at the Union’s request in regard to the late Exeelsior-Ross match.
Mr Gaylor explained the whole happening. Ahleson, the Ross player, was suspended for two playing Saturdays. L. White’s application for transfer from the Kiwi to Excelsior team was refused. Three other transfer applications were refused also. A Hov was re-classified as a junior.
Four other applications for re-classi-fication were refused. It was resolved to ask the Ross Club for an explanation for not fielding a team on Saturday. Referee’s reports were received and approved. FIXTURES FOR. SATURDAY. School matches : —Convcnt-Arahura v. R.iniu (Cass Square) at 1.30; School B. v Boss at Boss. Junior matches:—Excelsior v. AVestport Stars, 3 p.m.; Kokatahi v. Boss at Kokatahi. Third grade games were postponed. School teams were granted permission to travel to Greymoutb on Saturdav.
GENERAL. An account was passed for payment

The weather was showery early in the morning but now it is bright and fine for the football. TEAM SUSPENDED. CHRISTCHURCH. July 20. The Canterbury Football Association yesterevo suspended the Lyttelton junior team, until an explanation is received regarding tbs use of bad language on the field.
