In the Supreme Court, prisoners who pleaded guilty in tho lower Court wore sentenced before bis Honor, Mr Justice Ostler as folow : Cvril Alfred Spencer, on three charges of theft at Nelson of £133 to two years’ probation, on condition that he paid the Court costs, £2 14s, within one month, and made restitution of £9B stil outstanding, within six months. John Reginald Ellis, aged 2<, on two charges of forgery .uul uttering at Wanganui, and 12 similar charges at Wellington, to reformative detention for a period not exceeding three years. Charles Odlin was charged with wilfully or negligently niriking false returns of income lor the veals 19--, 1923, 1924, and 1925. The firm of C. A. Odlin and Co., similarly charged, in respect to the years 1921 and 1924. Charles Odlin was further charged with making false returns to the company’s income from 1921 to 1924, and aiding and abetting the company in making false returns. The case was remanded for one week.
