Tn the House of Commons, Doctor Hadeil-Gnest (Uaonr) asked whether at tbo Imperial Conference, there would lie an investigation into the land availaide for settlement in the different Dominions. Air Baldwin said that lie was unable to answer the question. Air E. Tliurtle (Labour) asked if the powers of Governor-Cenerals in relat tion to the dissolution of the Domin-' l ions’ Parliaments would at the Drift peri a I Conference he dismissed. j Afr Rennie Smith (Labour) asked whether members of the House of Commons and the general public would be able to attend the Imperial Conference. Mi) Baldwin said that he had not considered that. It had never been done yet. Mr Baldwin aded that the chief economic questions on the agenda paper were:—(l) Overseas settlement; (2) General review of inter-imperial trade , of the present and the future, including a discussion of work of tlie Imperial Economic Committee, and the position of the Empire Marketing Board;;. (3) Communications, including y the work of the Imperial Shipping j Committeo and the question of coinmercial. air services; (4) Research; ($ • The exhibition of Empire films within j tho Empire; (6) The question of se- <j curing 'agreement on the liberty and j liability of State enterprises as to taxation. |
