NEW YORK. July ID. At Toronto the English soccer team on Saturday defeated a picked team ;at Ontario by seven to two, recording their seventeenth consecutive victory. NEW YORK. July 10. At Columbies Bobby Jones won the open, golf championship with 293. Joe Tnrneea was second with 294. The latter was three up on the final round and increased his lead to four out faltered at the last three holes. Jones paying faultless golf covering the difficult course in seventy-three, overtook and beat his opponent. O’Hara (Australia) withdrew after making ninetyone in the first round.
