[Australian & N.Z. Cable Association.] FORGERY CONSPIRACIES. BERLIN, July JO. Apparently some residents of the British overseas territories are under the impression that reputable German printing firms are prepared to forge for them unlimited quantities of bank notes. Several such firms have received letters from Africa, India and Australia, enclosing bank notes with a- request that they he copied exactly. For example, a letter from English AA’est Africa enclosed a West African pound' note, and ordered a large supply of similar notes to be sent to .Africa concealed iu concertinas. The firms concerned have handed those letters to the Forgery Department of the Reichsbanlc, which has informed the British authorities.
The British Embassy ~has sent each firm a reward of £SO.
