HOKITIKA HARBOUR BOARS
A meeting of the Hokitika Harbour hoard was held yesterday at 4.30 p.m. Present:—Messrs AYood (Chairman), Bruce. Nightingale. Richards. Inward correspondence was received from the Government Statistician acknowledging various statistics Horn Nautical Adviser with draft report for Nautical Almanac for correction. From Town Clerk advising Borough Inspector had been directed to take drastic steps agaisnt offenders at the rubbish dump.
From Thames Harbour Board enquiry as to procedure and various firms offering plant and equipment. The Signalman reported the channel very northerly with 10ft of water. Accounts amounting to £JBi Ss 5d were passed for payment, this liichidinf £3IG 17s fid repayment to the Advances Office. Twopence Rate.—lt was resolved that the special rate ol twopence m the £1 on unimoroved value in Hokitika and three-eighths of a penny on tbe capital value in the west of the Harbour District be payable on 30th September. , , , Resolved that, a letter of thanks he sent to Contain Johansen for lus honorary work in skilfully renovating the model of the Aborigine. The Board rose at 5.30 p.m.
