BOY SCOUTS.
(Contributed.) Tuesday, July 13th, at 8.0 p.m. will see the quarterly meeting of . parents and friends of the Second Hokitika Scouts and Wolf Cubs, and tho Troop Committee having applied for a fine evening this time hope that each boy will he represented by one or both of his parents. This refers especially to recordly-joined hoys, whose parents will he making things easier all round if they will try to ascertain just what Scouting and Cubbing really are and will also help those in active charge with advice and comments. 'Clio football match arranged for this Saturday to select a fifteen for the Second Pack will not he held, hut all Cubs arc asked to turn up at 10 a.m. on Saturday morning for a meeting which will last until midday. The Scouts will meet ns usual this week hub are reminded that next week a camp is due to he held. Nearly a dozen Cubs of the Second Pack arc duo to go into the Scout Troop this year so that although the pack is row at full strength it few more names two being received to fill the vacancies which will, occur in a few weeks’ time. Boys between eight and eleven who wish to join should apply at once as it will be necessary to keep strictly to tho order of which applications are made when filling the places Both scouts and cubs are busy nt rehearsals just now for an entertainment which >t is hoped will he held .sometime within the next five weeks. A date for this wifi probably bo chosen at the quarterly meeting referred to above.
