[■Renter Telegrams.] CANADIAN POLITICS. (Received this day at 12.25 p.m.) OTTAWA, June 29. When the House opened this afternoon, Mr Drayton in announcing the plans of the new Government, said: “Having in mind the fact tls.it the present session lias now continued for almost six months and is very near its close. Mr Meighan 1 relieves it is the first duty of any Government he might form to conclude with all despatch the work of the present session.” Mr Drayton announced that the loader had accordingly decided to constitute a temporary Ministry composed cl seven members, adding: “So soon as the prorogation takes effect. Mr Meigli,an will immediately address himself to the task of constituting a Government according to the method established by custom. The present plan is merely to meet the unusual, if not unprecedented situation. The now Government suffered its first reverse in the Commons to-day when the Speaker’s ruling declaiing a sub-amendment to the Customs report moved by the Liberals in order, was upheld by a vote of 115 to ILL The sub-amendment would strike out the censure of the King Government contained in the Conservative amendment to the Customs report, that provision should he made for an inquiry on a larger scale of the customs
administration. During the debate preceding the division ex-Preinier King submitted Unit if the Conservative amendment in its pvesem, form were adopted, the Meighan Government would he voting x i ensure of itself.
