FARMERS’ UNION

VISIT OF ORGANISER. Air W. R. Harris, Organiser for the New Zealand Farmers.’ Union is at present on a visit to the West Coast for the purpose of organising the fanner* of the district, and setting up new bra nolle*. Air Hi uris left Greymoulh on Thursday last, accompanied by Alessrs J. Alukare, W. Clayton, H. Carter and F. Ilaillie (provincial executive of the West Coast Farmers’ Union). A visit was paid to Harilmri. AVataroa. Wailaliu and Boss. At the two former place* meetings were held, and at the oilier centres the farmer* mere met individually ami the advantages of joining up with the Fanners’ Union pointed out. A further visit will he made bv the 'organiser to these districts next week. Mr Harris and the party paid a visit to the Kokaiahi and Koiierangi district on Sunday, .Monday and Tuesday. Last night a public meeting of farmers was held in the Koiierangi Public Hall, Air U. H. Morel presiding. when Mr Hams addressed the meeting. After discussion it was unanimously decided Unit' it was advisable that the districts of Koiierangi and Kokaiahi should form a combined branch of the 1 ninn. and for this purpose if- was decided to Hold a further meeting on Thursday next, at the Public Hall. Kokaiahi. when the Koiternngi licsident- will attend and discuss the matter with the residents of Kokatahi, and a branch will then he formed. Already thirty financial members have joined up for the district. The meeting was a very enthusiastic one and there i* every promise of a very strong branch being formed. A notification appears elsewhere of the imeting at Kokaiahi Public Hall on Thursday next at 8 p.m.. when all interested should attend.
