N.S.W. SETTLEMENT. COMPI'LSORV CONFERENCE. UV TELEGRAPH—PRESS ASSN., COPYRIGHT. SYDNEY. June 14. The compulsory conference to-day has arrived at a settlement of tl*e Coal Strike. THE TERMS OF SETTLEMENT. SYDNEY, June ]4.
The terms of the settlement of the coal strike, which have yet to he ratified by aggregate meetings of the-' men, 'are as follows: The owners are to reinstate all the employees presenting themselves for work. All the collieries are to resume- on the same day. The owners are to abandon their legal proceedings against the union and the union officials. Mr Hibble (Head of the Coal Tribunal) stated that if these terms are agreed to, he will immediately summon the Coal Tribunal to hear the men’s claims. The owners have agreed.
The employees’ representative have stated that they would place the terms before aggregate meetings of tho men to-morrow (Wednesday) and would report hack to the conference on Thursday.
The men’s meetings are certain to ratify the settlement, thus terminating the- strike, which has paralysed industry throughout the Commonwealth,
