Even the letter did net expect such vehement language. The statement, after declaring that he must reserve liberty of action, as provided by the Constitution, until the result of the vote is known, adds: “ I who, have spent my life in the service of the German Emperor, regard the plebiscite as a great injustice, a grave lack of traditional sentiment, and as an act of gross ingratitude. From a legal aspect, it is a highly lamentable onslaught against tho structure of the state whose firmest foundation should respect tho law of property. It offends the foundations of the moral law, and it will undermine one of’the pillars on which tlic State reposes, and will open a way leading ito a steep pit.” LUDEXDORFF DIVORCE.
