Wedded to a beautiful woman through the arrangement of his parents, Lucient ]>’Artois finds himself scorned by his wife because of his country roughness a.nd rustic manner. Deeply injured, the forlorn husband goes to Paris—where, with the aid of friends, lie eagerly seeks improvement in dress and carriage. The happiness of returning to his wife as the embodiment of her ideal is blasted when he learns that she has left Iris home. Crushed and heartbroken, Lucien throws himself in the whirl of Paris night life, distractedly searching for forgetfulness. There be is fleeced of his money by the human wolves—parasites of the gay white way, until at Inst ho finds himself in the bankrupt court. His wife’s awakening to the real worth of Lucien presents some of the most dramatic scenes ever incorporated in a motion picture. Alma Rubens portraps the haughty wife and .Tack Alulhall plays the role of Lucien. Harry Myers, noted screen comedian, is east in ofnc of the most humorous roles of bis career, and Bertram Or'nssby contributes an unusual character portrayal. Diana Miller, Judy King and Fred Walton are east in chief supporting roles. Maurice T.lvev directed the production. A good supporting programme will also bo presented including the latest topical and a good comedy.
