A record score for a Ranfurly Shield match, and probably also for Intel-pro-vincial Rugby, was registered by Haivko’s Bay against Wairarapa in the first Shield, match of the season today, when the defenders rattled on 17 tries, 13 of which were converted (77 points) against the challengers’ two tries (one converted), and two penalty goals (14).
