Cambridge circles have been discussing the probability of some of the Senators on Saturday opposing the conferring of the honorary degree of D.C.L. on AI r Ramsay MacDonald, because they objected to bis strike time utterances. Interest fizzled out to-day on the official announcement that the proposal had hecn withdrawn. Tt is understood that the Vice-Chancellor took this course after the receipt of a. communication from Mr MacDonald, that lie did not desire an honour bestowed by a. majority vote.
