■ A DOMINION BAND. WELLINGTON, June 3. Mr H. Berry, a prominent bandmaster of Australia, wfio lias recently taken up the conductorsliip of the Wellington Tramways Band, proposes to organise a New Zealand Brass Band, fit to hold its own with the bands which come over here from Australia, and carry off the honours sit New Zealand contests. A committee has been formed to assist here and provide finance towards his object. Mr Berry has engaged F. Morrell, euphonium player and E. Edwards, drummer, both of the Argyll and Sutherland Band to take up permanent residence here, and play with the Tramway Band. B. Tucker, of the Lithgow Band, champion horn player of Australia, has also been secured. Air Berry considers that New Zealand can turn out as good a- hand as any, and he hopes to make the Tramways Hand equal to any outside competitor. _
