NEW ZEALAND UNION. j RY TELEGRAPH —PER PRESS ASSOCIATION WELLINGTON, May 26. A meeting of the Management Committee of the New Zealand Rugby Union was held to-uTglit. Regarding the Rotorua sub-union’s application for assistance in the payment for the only ground available, the request was granted. in a discussion as to whether the .Management Committee had the pouci to report a player for rough play, opinions differed. Mr Dean asked if the English Rugby Union would uphold it. It would have been a good thing in the Brownlie incident if the referee had seen the instigation. It had generally been admitted that the referee was tho sole judge, and to change would lie adopting a dangerous principle. Otago had such a by-law; but the host thing would be to send the matter to an Appeal Committee. ’fhe following selectors were chosen for the Tnter-Island match: North Island: Messrs E. McKenzie (convener), N. McKenzie, and A. Guy; South Ts,land :A. Gcddis, A. Banner, and 11. Davis (convener). Messrs E. McKenzie and Gcddis are to select the New Zealand team to tour Australia. It was decided that it was impracticable to have an Tntcr-Tslnnd match between minor unions, but the Union would endeavour to- arrange it next year. Messrs Dean. Wylie and Fletcher wore appointed a Sub-Commiftec to consider the South African tour of 1928. Messrs E. Paratn and H. Harris wore appointed managers of the Maori team for France. Mr Harris is to attend the Imperial Rugby Conference.
