Ward off Influenza with 11 Nazol ” penertating and germ-killing. Is fid for fiO doses.—Advfc. ASPIRIN FRAUDS. LONDON, March G. How the amount of aspirin varies in some of the tablets on the market and how difficult it is to disintegrate some of them—which should be a quick process if relief is.to lie speedy—is shown in a report by Birnii ngha m’s analyst, Mr J. F. Liverseege. He examined the. contents ol 12 bottles of four different kinds. He reports : “The average weight of aspirin in two kinds was 5.0 and 4.0 grains respectively. The labels, therefore, staling that they were five grain tablets were false labels. Five of the samples were free from talc and the other seven contained from .<) to 4.5 per cent. Those containing 4.5 per cent- of talc, attei soaking in water for three days showed no difference in appearance'. Although dropping into water is admittedly not a satisfactory test and a standard test is lacking, some disintegrated in water in a. minute or two and others remained unchanged in appearance for days. As a general statement the tablets containing French chalk or talc were the slowest in disintegration.”
