“THE KISS BARRIER”— WEDNESDAY.
Edmund Lowe’s latest starring picture, “The Kiss Earner,” which opens cm Wednesday night, at the Princess Theatre, is a virile dramatic love story that will make the present generation sigh with envy and the older screen fans lapse into a reverie of romantic memories. .Mr Lowe runs the gamut of emotions in his brilliant portrayal of the character of Captain March, virile war hero, suave matinee idol and ardent suitor. The dashing "William Fox actor was equally at homo in each phase of the complex role. There is sprightly humour and gripping drama in the play. It opens on the battle front, where Cntain March has crashed to earth in ids plane. Beautiful Marion "Weston, played b.v Claire Adams, comes to the rescue, Captain March is so overcome bv her charm that he forcibly kisses her. That is the kiss hairier. Returned from the war, he spurns the attention of women who try to capture him. Despite numerous 'obstacles, lie finally hurdled all barriers and wins Marion. In this romantic role Edmund Lowe gvic.s a finely shaded performance. As the actor he is suave, handsome and dominant. As lover and Die soldier lie has the nerve and virility that appeals. Claire Adams as Marion is alluring and sincere. Marian Harlan is captivating as the flapper cousin, and Diana Miller as the designing actress does her usual good work. Others in the east are Thomas Mills, Charles Clary, Grace Cunard and Virginia Madison. “The Kiss Barrier” is an original story by Fred and Fanny Haft-on and was directed by 1?. William Neill.
