[by TEI.EO RAT’H PER PRESS #\BSOCIATIOS INDIAN HOCKEY TEAM. AUCKLAND, May 11. The Indian hockey team, four officers and thirteen men, arrived by the Mararoa to-day. It includes Sikhs, Punjabi, -Madrasi, Pathans. Queen Victoria’s Own. Sappers and -Miners, nil in uniform. They are attracting considerable interest in tbe town. AUCKLAND, May 11. Captain Cowan, of the Indian hockey team, said that his personal opinion is that an all Indian Army team would beat an English. Irish or Scotch international side. The standard of play is higher in India, and the visiting team is amongst the three best in tbe whole of India. Cowan lias played in tbe 'Scottish international trials and was chosen from the best regiments, most of which have two or three teams. They kept up systematic training on the vovi n £ e -
